{"id":1814,"date":"2020-03-10T15:51:31","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T15:51:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.archaeology.sa\/en\/?p=1814"},"modified":"2020-03-10T15:51:34","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T15:51:34","slug":"saudi-arabias-al-ula-forecasted-to-generate-67000-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.archaeology.sa\/en\/?p=1814","title":{"rendered":"Saudi Arabia\u2019s Al Ula forecasted to generate 67,000 jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Slated to become the world\u2019s largest living museum, KSA\u2019s Al Ula is expected to generate more than 67,000 jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reported by sister publication <em>Arabian Business<\/em>, the Royal Commission for Al Ula (RCU) estimates approximately half of those jobs will fall into the tourism sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al Ula  is one of the many developments in the Saudi Vision 2030, the framework  plan for the site was revealed at the 10th UN World Urban Forum this  week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors at the forum saw the vision for Al Ula through interactive displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RCU CEO Amr Al Madani  said: &#8220;We chose the World Urban Forum as a credible global platform to  engage with the world\u2019s leading developers and sustainability experts  and share our plans for the long-term, responsible development of Al Ula  as world\u2019s largest living museum.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al Madani added: &#8220;By combining heritage with nature, we are \ntransforming the cultural landscape of Al Ula and establishing the \ncounty as a global tourism destination with a thriving economy and local\n community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the Kingdom\u2019s recent introduction of tourist visas has \nbeen instrumental to the country\u2019s growth and developments such as Al \nUla feed into this growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Not only have we opened our doors to travellers benefiting from \nSaudi Arabia&#8217;s new tourist visas, we&#8217;ve also delivered the \ninfrastructure that is central to growth.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eyed to become a living museum, Al Ula will become a global centre \nfor culture, heritage, arts and eco-tourism. Al Madani said that Al Ula \nis \u201cSaudi Arabia\u2019s gift to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located 1,100km from Riyadh in north-west Saudi Arabia, Al Ula \ncomprises an oasis valley, sandstone mountains and ancient cultural \nheritage sites dating back thousands of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Arabian Business<\/em> noted the site is targeting to host two million visitors by 2035.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Slated to become the world\u2019s largest living museum, KSA\u2019s Al Ula is expected to generate more than 67,000 jobs.
