H \/8<sup>TH<\/sup>\r\n\u2013 9<sup>TH<\/sup> c. AD.).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>This group\r\nof ware also comprise a wide jar with tow loop-handles, being coated with green\r\nglaze. The external surface id decorated with wavy incisions around the neck,\r\nwith additional applied decorations forming parallel lines and semicircular\r\npatterns on the upper part of the body. The gaps between these patterns are filled\r\nwith clusters of circles, and other spaces inside and outside the semicircular\r\npatterns are filled with impressed flowers. This glazed pottery is\r\ncharacterized by the purity of its clay, which is usually white and often pale\r\ngreen. The coating of glaze is thick and covers both the inside and outside\r\nbody of the vessel. The color of the engraved parts is dark, that of fine,\r\nundecorated surface is light.(1)<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Al-Rabatha\r\n(Arabic \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0628\u0630\u0629) is a settlement in Saudi Arabia located some 200 km to the north-east\r\nof Medina on the pilgrim route from Kufa to Mecca, known as Darb Zubaydah. The\r\narchaeological excavations directed by the King Saud University, have shown\r\nthat, Al-Rabadha yields important information for the early phases of Islamic\r\nculture.(2)<\/p>\r\n(Note).
